With over 500 events and a fantastic line-up featuring John Cooper Clarke, Katie Piper, Larry Lamb, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Steph McGovern, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Grace Dent, Ash Sarkar, and many more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Returning for this year’s festival are our ever-popular annual events Lyrical Mehfil, Poetry with a Punch, Sufiyana Kalaam, Brontë Heritage Tour and An Evening of Comedy. From engaging talks and panel discussions to captivating readings and workshops, BLF offers you the chance to immerse yourselves in the world of literature and culture.

Education Programme

Bradford Literature Festival (BLF) has developed an expansive, free Education Programme for Primary schools, Secondary schools, and Home Educators. Leading writers, performance poets, illustrators, scientists, historians, journalists, among many others, share their skills through live shows, performances and interactive workshops.

Each day features exciting events, following a curriculum-targeted theme, champions an inclusive curriculum that fosters different perspectives on taught topics.

Themes for 2025 range from Ancient Egypt to Shakespeare, Gothic Literature to Civil Rights, as well as events on Rebellious Royals, Performance Poetry, and more!

Bradford Literature Festival’s annual Creative Economic Conference (CEC) gathers influential minds from the realms of business, politics, and the creative industries. Explore how the business and creative sectors can work together to drive innovation and inspire visionary thinking, in a variety of insightful panel talks and round table discussions.

Family Fun Days

Bradford Literature Festival’s free Family Fun Days spark imagination, joy and creativity for families with young children!

Enjoy an exciting variety of free events in Bradford’s City Park, including live performances, storytelling, arts and crafts, face painting and much more. Meet some of your favourite children’s authors and, together, bring their stories to life.
